Wood Borers
Appearance of Damage: The exit holes of the wood borer are (oval) and about 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch big, there may be many exit holes in the same area.
Behavior: The adult will do very little damage however, the larva is what does a lot of damage. The life cycle of the Wood Borer is 3 to 12 years and the larva stage may last from 2 to 10 years. This borer can do a lot of damage in its life time!
Habitat: Lives in soft woods.
Economic Significance: This insect will reinfest the same wood over and over again doing a lot of damage in its life time.
